Charmeuse

Description: Lustrous, lightweight woven fabric, lighter than satin
Content: Silk or polyester
Uses, Fit: Clings to the body, drapes and hangs well.  Usually cut on the bias, never tailored.  Flows nicely, great for pageant gowns with trains & mermaid styles.
Care: Dry clean only, low iron or steam
Alteration Tips: Very delicate, can snag easily.  Difficult to sew, slips easily, fabric puckers and pulls easily so needle must be sharp, stitch length must be short, and thread must be fine.
